Kitchen sink makers stick to standard stainless steel options
June 6, 2008

China kitchen sink suppliers have no plans of shifting to less-expensive variations of stainless steel even as the cost of certain grades has more than doubled over the past several years.

Makers said they can keep prices stable if fluctuations in the material's cost do not exceed $290.

Most companies prefer 202 and 304 stainless steel because these grades are fit for extrusion.

One such supplier is Foshan Shunde Minghao Kitchen Utensils Co. Ltd. The company recently released a double-bowl kitchen sink in 304 stainless steel with a thickness of 0.9mm. The model measures 635x558mm and has 160 or 180mm-deep bowls. It can have a satin, silk or polished finish.
